It's time to run one of the best 5K/10Ks in Southern California, the Santa Monica Classic. If I sound biased, it's because I founded the event. It's now part of the LA Marathon group of events, and today we'll all be down at packet pick-up with the Nike folks. I conceived of this race as a premium event: beautiful course, sweet Nike technical shirts, environmentally-themed Expo, great training program, etc. The event has all of these things. Importantly, the Classic also raises both money and awareness for Heal the Bay.
Today's packet pick-up at Sport Chalet in West LA is an event unto itself. Check it out:
The first 2,000 people who pick up their packet will receive a Sport Chalet gift card worth between $5 and $100 to pick up all your race day needs. Card valid only May 2nd & 3rd at the West LA location. Festivities will also include massages, iPod engraving, footwear trials and more. See you there!
